Long X Arts Foundation Kicks Off Concert Series With A Diverse Lineup Of Entertainment

The Long X Arts Foundation Watford City Area Concert Series is excited to announce the lineup for the 2018/2019 Concert Series, the first series for the newly formed organization that is committed to providing high quality entertainment at an affordable rate for members of the community.

The 2018/2019 Watford City Area Concert Series kicks off as support to the third annual Comedy Café event featuring Las Vegas Headliner and TV Personality, Jeff Civillico and nationally acclaimed comedian Bob Stromberg on Friday, October 26, 7:00 p.m. at the Watford City High School Auditorium. The Comedy Café event serves as a fundraiser for Bakken Oil Rush Ministry, which provides one of the area's only thrift stores to help people who are struggling to provide basic needs for their families.

"This concert series kick off is unique because we had the opportunity to partner with a great cause," said Jessie Scofield, president of the concert series committee. "This comedy show is just the first of a diverse lineup of artists, hand picked for our community."

The Watford City Area Concert Series is a membership driven organization. A 2018/2019 membership grants access to four Watford City based concerts as well as reciprocity with concert series lineups in Williston, Dickinson, Crosby and Hazen. A $50 individual memberships gives you the potential to enjoy up to eighteen concerts.

Following the Comedy Café, the Watford City Area Concert Series will continue the family comedy theme on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 with music, magic and ventriloquism with Todd Oliver, an America's Got Talent finalist. Todd is known for his act featuring Irving, his talking dog, and a rotating cast of characters. He's appeared on The Today Show, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show.

On March 26, 2019 the concert series will welcome its first classical musician with award-winning pianist, composer, and improviser Charlie Albright. The Washington Post says Albright is "among the most gifted musicians of his generation" and has been praised for his "jaw-dropping technique and virtuosity meshed with distinctive musicality" by the New York Times.

The concert series will close on May 14, 2019 with another America's Got Talent Finalist, Sons of Serendip. This quartet of long time friends brings you fresh and creative interpretations of music you love featuring a tenor, harp, cello and keyboard.

All concerts take place at 7:00 p.m. CT in the Watford City High School Theater Auditorium. In addition to performing for the community, each performer will be doing a program for select schools in the community during their visit.

Membership prices for the Watford City Area Concert Series are $50 for an adult membership, $150 for a family membership and $25 for students 18 and under.
