Upcoming Programs Presented At Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center

WILLISTON, N.D. The public is invited to these upcoming events at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center (MYCIC) near Williston. All events are free and open to the public. All times are Central Time.

Oct. 18: Confluence History Book Club, 7 p.m. Join history buffs in a discussion of this month’s selected book, “West Like Lightening” by Jim DeFelice, recounting the legendary ride of the pony express. Free refreshments.

Oct. 20: 14th Annual Cemetery Walk at Fort Buford, 6:30 p.m. with the last tour beginning at 8:30 p.m. Hear stories of how the “ghosts” came to reside in the cemetery. Refreshments and treats will be available.

Oct. 21: Concert at the Confluence, 3 p.m. The public is invited to a concert featuring the country and western group Ben Voight and Friends.

Oct. 19-20: Confluence Quilters, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Join the Confluence Quilters at their monthly meeting. All experience levels invited and instruction provided.

Oct. 27: Creative Canvas with Tina, 2 p.m. Participants will create a fall painting guided by Tina Harding. $20 fee includes all class supplies. Register by Oct. 20 by calling 701.572.9034. Class size is limited to 18.

The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is part of Fort Buford State Historic Site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday 1-5 p.m. CT. Fort Buford is closed for the winter.
