Funeral service for Archer "Arch" Ellwein, 62, of Sidney, MT was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Nicolaus officiating. Interment was held at Pioneer Cemetery in Sidney, MT. Visitation was from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday, October 8 at Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home in Sidney, MT with the family service at 6 p.m. Remembrances, pictures and condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.fulkersons.com. Archer "Arch" Dennis Ellwein passed away October 2, 2018 in Billings, MT. Arch was born August 1, 1956 in Sidney, MT to Earl M. and Grace Albert Ellwein. He graduated from Sidney High School and began a career in radio broadcasting, which included a variety of ball games throughout Eastern Montana. He was known as "The voice of the Eagles". As demanding as broadcasting was, he still found time to help his father do carpentry. In younger years he would create scenes to act out using blankets on clotheslines for curtains, chairs and saw horses for his audiences of neighborhood children, and a dog with a Christmas wreath around his neck representing a lion.

Arch enjoyed teaching school children the fun in creating and acting in a variety of plays, which were held in schools and parks across North Dakota and Montana. He was very involved in the Sidney community and well known for his portrayal of political figures including Theodore Roosevelt, Sgt. John Ordway, buffalo hunter Vic Smith, and Captain Grant Marsh. He performed coast-to-coast in more than 2,400 shows. Arch was also a former member at the MonDak Heritage Center and was always interested in events at the museum.

Arch was preceded in death by his father Earl, a sister Louise, and an infant brother Anthony.

He is survived by his mother, Grace Ellwein and brother, Earl Ellwein both of Sidney, MT.
