"Light The World" This Christmas Season

Join members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in making the season a little brighter.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints invites everyone to participate in its annual “Light the World” campaign which begins on December 1 and continues through Christmas Day, December 25. The theme this year is “Give As He Gave” and is an invitation to approach the Christmas season with a renewed focus on service and giving our time, love and resources as Jesus gave. It will kick off on December 1 with a worldwide day of service encouraging everyone to provide simple acts of service in their neighborhoods and communities.

Each week has a different theme, inviting us to serve others within our different spheres of influence in the world, our community, and our own family. The final week focuses on the individual and how these acts of service can strengthen our own faith in Christ. Each of these weekly themes will have a corresponding video that will be featured on LightTheWorld.org There is also a downloadable advent calendar that can help provide ideas to “give as Jesus gave” throughout the month. Big or small, a simple act can spread the light of Jesus Christ. We hope this celebration inspires individuals, families, youth groups and congregations to emulate Jesus Christ’s example of service as is depicted in the holy scriptures.
