NWND Community Foundation & Equinor Announce 2019 Equinor STEM Fellowship Recipients

Williston, N.D. – Equinor, through the Equinor North Dakota Charitable Fund held by the Northwest North Dakota Community Foundation, is pleased to announce the teachers selected for the STEM Education Fellowship program. The Equinor STEM Education Fellowship program provides STEM educators with resources to support their professional development and enhances STEM education in the region for students, educators, and their school communities.

Brandi Mehlhoff and Audrey Angelo were selected through a competitive application process to participate in the Fellowship program. Mehlhoff and Angelo have selected their professional development activities to include attending the Texas Computer Education Association's (TCEA) 2019 convention and exposition. At the TCEA convention and exposition, Mehlhoff and Angelo will have the opportunity to connect with other educators on a mission to discover the knowledge and resources they need to engage students, enhance curriculum, and increase productivity.

Mehlhoff is a sixteen-year veteran teacher who is currently the Library Media Specialist at Bakken Elementary School with a passion for science, technology and books. As a part of her duties, Mehlhoff oversees the STEM markerspace, where students can spend time tinkering and creating.

Angelo has been with the Williston Public School District for over five years, where she has spent time working in the district's technology department conducting technology training for fellow educators. Currently, Angelo is a 5th grade technology teacher at Bakken Elementary School.

"Our partnership with Equinor is remarkable, allowing the community foundation to support its community giving directives through new projects and initiatives, like the Equinor STEM Fellowship program," said Ward Koeser, President of the Northwest North Dakota Community Foundation. "We are so appreciative of their investment in the community foundation and our region."
