Badlands Gymnastics Results Starstruck Qualifier January 19

Badlands Gymnastics took their competitors on the road for the second time in 2019, competing at the Starstruck Qualifier in Mandan, ND on January 19. They had a great competition, coming home with one team trophy and a number of 1st place finishes.

Level 3 Team Results: 1st American Gold Gymnastics (Fargo) 112.350; 2nd Gymagic Gymnastics (Minot) 111.350; 3rd Badlands Gymnastics 111.20; 4th Bismarck Gymnastics Academy 110.550; 5trh Dakota Star 107.750; 6th Western Stars (Williston) 105.150; 7th Dickinson 102.150; 8th Eastern Montana (Circle) 50.900

Badlands raised their team score by an incredible 7 full points + to take the third place position among tough competition, including last year's Level 3 State Champion American Gold. Second year competitors Fallon Sampsel and Navy Barker stepped up for their best AA's of the year, contributing heavily to the team score increase. First year newcomers Skye Cutshall & Bayley Brooks also contributed to the team score. A 7 point increase in gymnastics would be like a basketball team increasing their output by 50 points!

Badlands Level 3 Top Ten Results:

For the second meet in a row, Badlands Amelia Wisness grabbed the 1st place All Around title, this time out of 69 competitors. She set a new Badlands All Around Score record at 37.550.

Navy Barker: 7th Tie Beam 9.000

Getting closer! Badlands finished just outside of the trophy range, yet increased their team score by more than a point over the previous weekend.

Badlands Level 4 Top Ten Results:

49 Level 4 athletes were at the Starstruck. Badlands absolutely dominated the Balance Beam portion of the competition, with 3 out of the 4 top places on this event. Annabelle Coughlin had a great meet, bringing home first place finished on the Bars and the Beam, while narrowly missing the AA title at second place.
