McKenzie County Archers Receive Top Honors in Badlands Roundup

McKenzie County Juniors received first place team honors in the Junior Bare Bow category of the Badlands Roundup 4-H Archery Match held on Saturday, January 26 at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City.

Receiving first place honors in the Junior Division was Jake Ceynar, son of Dustin and Sara Ceynar of Arnegard. Ryan Pingel, son of Brent and Sandra Pingel of Watford City, came in with second place honors. Jeremiah Patten, son of Jane and Tony Patten of Watford City, followed by placing 5th place individually. Nicolas Sanford, son of Sandra and Brent Sanford of Watford City, was also a team member. Hunter Cowan, son of Ken and Sabrina Cowan of Watford City, Skyla Hovde, daughter of Nathan and Kristi Hovde of Arnegard and Luke Smith, son of Randi and Leland Smith of Arnegard, also shot in this category.

McKenzie County Senior Division-- Bare Bow category—shooters also received first place honors. Hosanna Patten, daughter of Tony and Jane Patten, received first place and Shyanna Hovde, daughter of Kristi and Nathan Hovde of Arnegard came in fourth place. Also on the team were Clay Ceynar, son of Sara and Dustin Ceynar and Ezra Patten, son of Tony and Jane Patten.

Jake Ceynar also received second place individual honors in the Junior Freestyle category of this match. Dylon Cargo, son of Laci and Seth Cargo of Arnegard, came in with seventh place and Aiden Van Zee, son of Amber and Robert Van Zee of Watford City, followed with eighth place. Also shooting freestyle were: Ryan Pingel, Thayden Arnold, son of Thad and Lowana Arnold of Watford City, Luke Smith and Morgan Vesey, daughter of Emily and Joe Vesey of Fairfield.

Also participating in the Badlands Roundup from McKenzie County were: Bennett Boltz, son of Becky and Jed Boltz of Grassy Butte, Luke Pederson, son of Anita and Kent Pedersen of Arnegard, Jax Hovde, son of Nathan and Kiristi Hovde and Dale Chinn, son of Jodi and Brad Chinn of Grassy Butte.
