2019 Spring Tree and Garden Workshop March 9

NDSU Williston Research Extension Center along with the City of Williston Forestry Department will host the 2019 Spring Tree and Garden Workshop on Saturday, March 9 at the Extension Center, 14120 Hwy 2 W, Williston.

The event is free and open to the public with homeowners, gardeners and professionals encouraged to attend. Lunch will be served to those who pre-register. All times are Central Standard Time.

The day begins at 8:30 with coffee, muffins and a welcome. At 9 a.m., take in “Top 10 Shrubs and Perennials for Landscapes in Williston” followed by “Drip Irrigation” at 9:30. Williston Farmers’ Market will be discussed at 10 a.m. followed by Re-leaf Williston opportunities and information available from Williston City Forestry. “Black Knot and Topping – how to avoid unsightly trees” will be presented at 11:00 a.m. with “Potted Floral Arrangement Design” at 11:15. After a lunch break, enjoy “Backyard Low Tunnel Vegetable Production” at 12:30 p.m. Two concurrent hands-on sessions will begin at 1:30 p.m., Jams and Jellies in the kitchen or Tree Trimming outdoors.
