Buzzin' Beyond Billings Tour Of Eastern Montana Commences May 7

MSU Billings News—Montana State University Billings is launching its second Buzzin’ Beyond Billings tour of eastern Montana May 7-9. The fifth stop of the tour is in Sidney on Wednesday, May 8. The community, alumni and friends of the university are invited to a free social from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stockman Bank, located at 301 W. Holly St.

Enjoy refreshments while you meet with Yellowjacket staff, faculty and administrators from a variety of campus departments. Representatives from athletics, recruitment, development, alumni and others will be available for questions and MSUB updates.

MSU Billings Chancellor Dan Edelman will be on tour and hopes to meet people from all over eastern Montana as the group travels to Lame Deer, Colstrip, Miles City, Glendive, Sidney, Poplar and Glasgow throughout the three days.

“Many MSU Billings students and alumni have deep roots in eastern Montana. Often they’ve had to come to Billings to learn about the great things we’re doing on campus. Now, we’re coming to them in force – to meet them on the plains of our state face-to-face. We want to connect with eastern Montana communities, as well as the families and friends of our Yellowjackets, past and future. Our aim is to raise awareness, entice prospective students, and strengthen relationships with the people who matter most to our university,” said Chancellor Edelman.

MSUB will also stop at Sidney High School where faculty, with the help of The Atomic Circus and Molecular Midway, will perform science demonstrations for students. Meanwhile, the university’s provost and deans will visit with local education administrators to discuss their needs and how to strengthen relationships.

Tour activities are sponsored by the major sponsor, Stockman Bank, as well as Cross Petroleum Service, Smith, Lange & Halley, P.C., Fort Peck Community College, MSU Billings, and the MSU Billings Foundation.

RSVPs for the alumni social are appreciated, but not required. To RSVP, call 406-247-5781 or email [email protected]
