Spring Cleaning Is Going To Hit Sidney On Friday, May 17

The third annual Sidney Clean Up Day, where beautifying the community is the goal, is scheduled on that date starting at about 8 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. Organizers for the event include the Richland County Volunteers in Action, Seitz Insurance, the City of Sidney, Sidney Chamber and Richland County.

Organizers hope to engage more volunteers than ever before by having free trash bags and gloves available at Sidney City Hall. Materials will be available in front of the garage doors by the former fire hall next to City Hall.

Large dumpsters will be located at the IGA and South Shopko parking lots. There will also be additional trash cans situated along Second Street S.E.

Sidney’s schools have committed to cover local parks and the walking path. Sidney Health Center is donating gloves and will clean up its campus during the day.

Organizers are interested in larger events such as cleaning the outside of buildings, etc. If you know of such a needed project, please provide the information to Sidney City Hall.

To reward the adult volunteers, there will be a no-host social beginning at 4 p.m. at the Meadowlark. Participants will get $1 off a pint during the social. Individuals should make sure to ask for a coupon while gathering supplies.
