4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest Held, June 10 Watford City

The 2019 McKenzie County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest was held on June 10 at the NDSU Extension Office/McKenzie County in Watford City.

Jessica Goetz of Killdeer was awarded the Grand Champion award in the Senior Division (14 to 18 years old). Gabby Larimer, also of Killdeer, followed with Reserve Champion honors.

Jaden Murphy of Williston received a Grand Champion ribbon in the Junior Division (10 to 13 year olds) and Trey Larimer of Killdeer followed with the Reserve. Ephraim Arnold and Kyle Best, both of Watford City, and Amelia Wisness of Keene were recipients of blue ribbons.

Beginner Division (8 and 9 year olds) participants Clara Wisness of Keene and Gracyn Darrington of Arnegard were awarded Grand and Reserve Champion honors respectively.

Also participating in the contest was noncompetitive Cloverbud (5 to 7 year olds) Gavyn Darrington of Arnegard.

Kari Korslien of Watford City served as the judge for the event.

The 4-H Consumer Decision Making program is designed to help youth develop decision making skills. Their ability to observe and evaluate written materials determines their success in the program.
