Mobile Planetarium Comes to Sidney

Students Learn About the Vastness of Space

The Sidney-Richland County Library took part in a spectacular program all about space on Thursday, June 27, at the Richland County Event Center!

Learning about science through the inflatable, portable planetarium brought plenty of "oohs" and "ahs." More than that, you will be inspired to engage in a better understanding of the world around you!

Presenter Sabre Moore led this incredible study and discussion. Our solar system, including Jupiter, Earth, Mars and the stars, came alive in this unforgettable dome. Visitors discovered American Indian stories, a tour of the planets, and Greek constellations!

The StarLab Rural Outreach Program is a joint project between the Museum of the Rockies and the Carter County Museum, wherein the Carter County Museum provides the facilitation, transportation and setup.

Sabre Moore is the Executive Director for the Carter County Museum in Ekalaka, Montana. She was born and raised on a sheep and cattle ranch near Douglas, Wyoming. She has a B.A. in History from Montana State University and an M. A. in Museum Studies and Nonprofit Management from Johns Hopkins University. She enjoys hiking with her dog Carter at the nearby Medicine Rocks State Park, stargazing, and using museum objects to teach science and history to visitors from all over the world.
