Fort Buford Historic Site Presents History Alive, July 13-14

 

The Fort Buford 6th Infantry stands at attention during a firing demonstration at the Lewis and Clark Trail Museum's 50th Anniversary celebration in Alexander, ND.

There will be a Fort Buford Encampment, Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14.

The Fort Buford 6th Infantry Encampment will be featuring demonstrations of soldier life on the frontier at Fort Buford during the 1870s.

Demonstrations throughout the day include, rifle drills, cannon drill and firing demonstration at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, telegraphy and early communications, recruitment of new members and learn about the role of the laundresses. This event is free and open to the public.
