State Historical Society Launches North Dakota Night Sky Online Exhibit

BISMARCK, N.D. — “North Dakota Night Sky,” a new online exhibit created by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, showcases the state’s night sky in new ways. Located at https://www.ndstudies.gov/nightsky/, it explores constellations, navigation, meteorites, Mars, and night sky activities for any clear night.

Exhibit sections highlight history and innovation, examining how North Dakota’s contributions to engineering, technology, and exploration relate to Mars. The website includes an immersive video, 360° Guide to the North Dakota Night Sky, that works on phones, computers, or virtual reality headsets to bring the view of the North Dakota night to users’ fingertips.
