Watford City Christmas Events Approaching

Christmas time is approaching and so are Christmas events in Watford City. This year there will be a Parade of Lights, a Magical Medora Christmas Show, Christmas Fest, and a Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree Class.

On Friday, November 29, Watford City‘s annual Parade of Lights will start on Main Street at 6:30 p.m. and wrap up around 8 p.m. with a fireworks show. There will also be an art show from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Gallery of First International Bank, a Christmas tree lighting, and a free ornament-making activity for kids to participate in. 

The Watford City Chamber of Commerce is looking for local businesses and nonprofit organizations to decorate and enter floats for the Parade of Lights; for more information, you can contact the Watford City Chamber of Commerce at 701-570-5084.

On Wednesday, December 4, The Magical Medora Christmas event will take place at the Watford City High School at 7:30 p.m. The event is a family-friendly Holiday Show put on by five legendary Medora performers. This traveling holiday favorite from Medora will feature Badlands stars of the past and present and will deliver some of the season’s best Christmas music and Christmas story to entertain attendees of all ages. To attend, you must buy a ticket which is $30 per adult and free for anyone under the age of six years old.

On Saturday, December 7, The Rough Rider Center’s Annual Christmas Fest will begin at 11 a.m. and wrap up around 4 p.m. At this event, there will be a Christmas Tree Auction, vendor show, pictures with Santa (12 to 3 p.m.), Letters to Santa activity, open skate and swim, bouncy houses, Christmas crafts for kids, and concessions. There is a $5 charge per person to attend, and children two years and younger are free. On Friday, December 13, at the Rough Rider Center, there will be a Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree Class starting at 7 p.m. Jessica from the MonDak Heritage Center will be teaching the class and guiding attendees through the steps on how to create a unique ceramic Christmas tree.
