Notice of Public Meeting

On July 15, 2019, Montana Dakota Utilities (MDU) filed its 2019 Electric Integrated Resource Plan (2019 Plan) with the Montana Public Service Commission (PSC). This plan included the closure of Sidney’s Lewis & Clark coal fired generation.

On Tuesday, October 29, in Helena, the PSC offices were flooded with folks from Richland County providing public comment to the PSC regarding this closure. The Commissioners then decided that another public meeting to receive comments should be held in Sidney, Montana.

On Tuesday, February 25th, 5:30 PM, at the Event Center located at the Richland County Fairgrounds, 2118 West Holly, the PSC will be conducting a meeting to receive comments on the 2019 Plan. The plan is available on the PSC website: http://www.psc.mt.gov. There will be a public meeting starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, in the Community Services Building to discuss ideas prior to Tuesday’s meeting regarding MDU and the Power Service Commission.

If you were unable to make it to Helena to provide your comments regarding the 2019 Plan and the Lewis & Clark coal generation closure, this is your opportunity to be heard by the PSC.

After reviewing the 2019 Plan, and considering public comments, the Commission will issue a general statement indicating whether the plan conforms to guidelines set my Montana law.
