Picking up the pieces after a fire is a challenging and emotional task for any homeowner, Billy and Sheri Carlson needed to do just that following a recent fire in their home at Tobacco Gardens on Lake Sakakawea. Billy is a Watford City native and his wife Sheri is from Wyoming. The Carlsons along with their kids Halle, Kyle, and Emma are a big part of the community and own Northern States Fishing Tools.

Following the fire they needed a complete rebuild of the family home. They called in a number of contractors to take on the project. MacGrady Construction, Sidney, was the general contractor. Quality Concrete, Savage, poured the basement and driveway with decorative touches by Manuell Vasquez Construction, Watford City. Agri Industries, Sidney, handled the plumbing. Prairie Electric, Savage, did the electrical and Frontier Heating, Sidney, completed the HVAC system. Builders FirstSource, Sidney, supplied the windows for the project.

Additional construction professionals completed the beautiful interior finishes. Ryan Dempsy Drywall, Sidney, did the interior drywall and perfataping. MacGrady Construction meticulously painted the interior of the home. Sidney Paint and Glass, Sidney, supplied the durable flooring and Creative Solutions, Sidney, designed and supplied the modern, functional cabinets and counters.

The cabinets throughout the home are rustic hickory in natural stain with traditional raised panel doors. Counter tops are amazing Cambria quartz in Armatage (black with white veins of white, gray and copper) throughout the kitchen, buffet, media room and master bath. The additional bathrooms throughout the house are furnished with new laminate black vein counter tops.

The kitchen is any chef's dream featuring a large island with two levels for both prep and eating. The innovating design incorporates a pop up mixer cabinet, a pull out recycling center and prep sink. The kitchen has commercial appliances including the room's focal point, a 48" cook top. Other appliances include built in dual ovens, French door refrigerator and KitchenAid dishwasher with integrated controls. A large under mounted sink looks out the 93" window overlooking the beautiful lake. There is a massive buffet, which is great for storing dishes and serving pieces along with entertaining.

MacGrady handcrafted the stunning floor to ceiling fireplace in the living room. The stock fireplace also features a quartz hearth and custom timber mantel with a beautiful family photo of the Carlsons.

MacGrady also constructed a stunning master bath. The master has a double vanity and makeup area. The beautiful walk in shower and soaker tub are surrounded by matching rockwork with complementary tile in the shower. The space blends together beautifully with the quartz countertop and custom cabinets.

The Carlsons are thrilled with their new custom built home. Their favorite part of the home is the kitchen, dining and living space with an open floor plan but still has a different feel to each space. They plan to enjoy many more years in this gorgeous home at picturesque Tobacco Gardens with stunning views of Lake Sakakawea.
