Sidney Native Moves Back Home to Fill Optometrist Position

As of September, Sidney Eye Care added a new optometrist to their eyecare team. Dr. Sadie Steinbeisser decided to move back to her hometown of Sidney, after hearing about an open optometrist job position. "Dr. Kristin O'Brien had approached me with this opportunity, and it seemed like a really great chance to get back home," stated Dr. Steinbeisser.

Dr. Steinbeisser received her undergraduate degree at Montana State University, Bozeman, where she studied microbiology. She then went on to grad school at the University of Houston where she performed her clinical experience in pediatric and specialty contact lenses. She said, "I did my clinical experience in the city of Houston and then at a VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, and with that, I also gained experience in medical optometry."

After receiving her Doctor of Optometry in 2019, Steinbeisser decided to move back to Montana. She worked at a primary care office in Billings, before receiving the job position at Sidney Eye Care.

Dr. Stenbeisser explained that she truly enjoys working in her hometown. "It is just so cool to see people I haven't seen in years and people that may not know me but know my parents. Everyone says I look just like my mom! It is such a nice community to grow up in and it is great to be back."

In addition to this, she also enjoys that she gets the opportunity to spend more time with her family. "It is great to be around my family again, I have got lots of nieces and nephews here and it's nice to be able to interact with them a little bit more as they are growing up."

Dr. Steinbeisser's main goal is to be the best provider that she can be for her patients. She added that she likes to establish relationships with her patients so that she can see them from year to year. She explained that she hopes to stay in Primary Care Optometry but would also like to get a little bit more experience in pediatric vision therapy and specialty contact lenses. She said, "We already do a little bit at the office, but I would just like to bring more in so that there is more opportunity for care here. "
