Williston Fire Department Provides Update On April 3 Fire North Of Williston

WFD responded with three brush trucks and two tender trucks, an apparatus that specializes in the transport of water from a water source to a fire.
While WFD was working one of the fire's flanks, the wind shifted, and the fire rapidly overtook Brush Truck #3.
WFD personnel were able to evacuate and were evaluated with no injuries.
Brush Truck #3 is confirmed as a total loss.
In addition to WFD, fire fighters and personnel from Grenora, Wildrose, Alamo, Minot, Fairview, Epping, Ray, Tioga, and Williams County/Williston Emergency Management responded to this brush fire.
As of 8:30 p.m. CT, Sat., April 3, the fire was considered contained and WFD was released. The Williston Rural Fire Department is now performing "mop up," or extinguishing residual fire.
The cause of this brush fire is undetermined at this time.
