Williston Fire Department Provides Update On April 3 Fire North Of Williston

Williston - On Saturday, April 3 the Williston Rural Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire north of Williston.

Following initial efforts to contain this fire, the Williston Rural Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Williston Fire Department (WFD).

WFD responded with three brush trucks and two tender trucks, an apparatus that specializes in the transport of water from a water source to a fire.

Brush Truck #3 is confirmed as a total loss.

In addition to WFD, fire fighters and personnel from Grenora, Wildrose, Alamo, Minot, Fairview, Epping, Ray, Tioga, and Williams County/Williston Emergency Management responded to this brush fire.

As of 8:30 p.m. CT, Sat., April 3, the fire was considered contained and WFD was released. The Williston Rural Fire Department is now performing "mop up," or extinguishing residual fire.

The cause of this brush fire is undetermined at this time.
