McKenzie County 4-H Archers Receive Honors at State Indoor Match

McKenzie County 4-H Archers took home First Place honors in the Barebow Senior Division at the 4-H Archery Indoor Championships held at Nishu Bowmen Range in Bismarck on April 17. Team members were: Ryan Pingel, Jake Ceynar and Addison George. Ryan captured 5th place individually and Jake placed 10th.

In addition, the following youth landed individual placings as follows:

• Beginner Bare Bow 4th place: Boston Foss

• Beginner Bare Bow 7th place: Beau Hovland

• Beginner Bare Bow 10th place: Kaydee Ceynar

• Senior Freestyle 9th place: Jake Ceynar

• Junior Freestyle 8th place: Dylon Cargo

McKenzie County 4-H received all these top placing honors and Dylon Cargo also took home Junior Archer of the Year Award.

Other McKenzie County youth participating in the Indoor Championship were:

• Senior: Clay Ceynar

• Junior: Hailey Wendlant

• Beginners: McCoy Lawlar and Jacob Rink

This event is the culmination of indoor matches held across North Dakota. Archers had to qualify to participate. Top approximately 20 North Dakota shooters in each division participated in the match.

Volunteer coaches for McKenzie County Archery are: Dustin Ceynar, Brent Schwan and Blaine Hovland.
