Sidney's Off The Clock Event Set For May 27

Sidney’s first-ever Off the Clock event will kick off on Thursday, May 27, from 6-9 p.m. This event is a fun entertainment appropriate for all ages and it hits the number one goal of providing opportunities for businesses to increase revenues, making Sidney a great place to do business.

Off the Clock is a take on an “Alive After 5” style event where stores will extend their hours the day of May 27. Participating shops will be open from 6-9 p.m. Many of these shops will have special deals for the customers. There will also be live music performed by “The Relics” across from Sidney Eye Care.

“These types of events are very successful in other communities and we wanted to bring something fun that promoted our local business to Sidney,” said Sidney Chamber of Commerce executive director Kali Godfrey.

Vendor style “pop-up” shops are also invited to join. Pop-up stores can register by calling the Chamber at 406-433-1916. There’s a flat $20 charge per business.

The Chamber will be offering tickets for $20 for Off the Clock. These tickets will get participants a meal at a Sidney restaurant, a VIP Shopping Experience (exclusive deals and a special treat, drink, or give away). Customers who visit a store are entered for a chance to win a gift basket full of prizes from the participating businesses. The more receipts customers bring to the Chamber table, the more chances they will have to win prizes. These tickets can be purchased online or by calling or stopping into the Chamber.

“Traditionally we coordinate some sidewalk sales downtown in the summer, and we do individual business (open-house style) Business After Hours events. We wanted to increase the attendance in those events and work out a few kinks our Chamber Member businesses gave us feedback on. With a lot of help from the Chamber’s Trade and Promotion Committee, we made Off the Clock happen,” added Godfrey.

Godfrey is excited about the VIP shopping experiences. She said, “That ticket is worth it, let me tell you. A little teaser for you: Restorx will be giving out full sized bottles of its own cleaner, MT Bare Cave has a cup of Black Rifle Coffee and Mimi’s Kitchen has treats and (kid and adult) beverages. That’s only 3 out of roughly 30 so make sure to get a ticket! Also, “The Relics” are a 5-piece local band, and who isn’t ready for some live music?”
