Cooking Series Empowers Teens To Adopt Healthier Lifestyles

Area youth who have completed grades 6-8 in 2021 are invited to attend a five-lesson program, Teen Cuisine, that will teach them knowledge and skills needed to prepare nutritious snacks and meals at home.

Teen Cuisine will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Mondays, July 12, 19, Aug. 2, 9 and 16 at NDSU Extension/McKenzie County, 205 6th St NW, Watford City. Preregistration is required prior to attending. Call 701-444-3451 or email [email protected] by July 6 to reserve a spot in class.

Participants will learn about reading recipes, knife skills, food safety, MyPlate and label reading. In addition, food will be prepared and eaten at each session. All attendees will receive a workbook, food thermometer, cutting mat and more!

Participation is free of charge.
