Frontier Tires & Glass Car Show & BBQ July 3

Who doesn't love a good car show? Why? Is it because it's a touch stone to the past, Is it because it reminds us of yester year, the stories that Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa used to tell us about the first car they owned or being stuck in the snow on the way to cousin Nell's house. Maybe they remind us of a magical time in America when things were; slower, simpler and innocent. Living in eastern Montana and western North Dakota is like stepping in to a time warp. Storeowners still know your name. Your neighbors kind of stick to themselves and don't spend much time annoying you, unless you are in trouble then they come running to a late night mishap or an illness, house or barn fire or having a baby or funeral they all come running. The day to day stuff is a live and let live society up here. I hope we can hold onto that for many years to come.

In the MonDak we are freer than other parts of the nation. We still sing the national anthem at our local events. We still pray in public, we still put up political signs across the street or on our bumpers that oppose each other and rake each other's yard, watch each other's children and attend church together. What a nice haven to raise a family.

So speaking of earlier America, in appreciation of the community and in an effort to celebrate America's birthday Frontier Tires and Glass is having a Car Show and BBQ on July 3 in conjunction with dragging main. Open to the public. Registration begins at 11 a.m. The car show kicks off at 2 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m. officially and then after bummin' around a while we start rolling old school down the main drag and back.

There will be door prizes to the pubic some grand prize drawings and some car category winners that the public will vote on. Categories to vote on will include: 1. Oldest car. 2. Who drove the furthest in the car to get here? 3. Most original. 4. Best paint. 5. Bone stock. 6. Most custom or modified. 7. Most horse power. 8. Crowd favorite. Each attendee will get a voting ballet, which will be their meal ticket, and at 5 p.m. we will start awarding the winners. No entry fee. Come enjoy your community and their cars, 2650 S Central Ave. Frontier Tires and Glass.
