Watford City Homefest Events July 15-18

Watford City’s Main Street will be filled with crowds of people July 15-18, with Homefest weekend kicking off on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and wrapping up Saturday night. 

The reunion weekend will be filled with events in addition to street dances, music, food and vendors.

“We are very excited to be having Homefest this year. Due to COVID-19 we were not able to host it but now everything will be back on Main Street and we just welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the good music, entertainment, and food,” said Mary Gumke, Watford City Chamber of Commerce director. 

On Thursday, July 15, from 5-7 p.m., Long X Visitor Center will be hosting its famous “Dogs on the Deck” event with music by Jessie Veeder. This is a family-friendly BBQ event that brings the community together to raise funds for local nonprofits. It will have a beer garden, meal, games and fun activities for all ages. 

Friday, July 16, will have a Fox Hills Golf Scramble, Missoula Children’s Theater Performance at 7 p.m. at Watford City Intermediate School, music and food on Main from 5-8 p.m. followed by Main Street music from the Cody Charles Band.

A Homefest run will kickoff at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Rough Rider Center (check-in at 8:30 a.m.); Missoula Children’s Theater Performance at 10 a.m. at Middle School; 12 p.m. Homefest Co-ed Grass Volleyball Tournament at American Legion Baseball Field, 12 p.m .; Baby Pageant at 11 a.m., Art & vendors from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Main Street; Long X Kid’s Free Arts Tent from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Main Street empty lot; Wagon Rides; Karaoke/Lip Sync Contest at 6 p.m .; followed by the Homefest Street Dance with DJ D-Jaden. A Homefest Talent Contest will be held at 6:30 p.m., presented by the Long X Arts Foundation, on Main Street. The winner gets to perform on the Main Stage at Ribfest.

Live music and entertainment featuring “George of the Juggle” (12 p.m.); Rihanna’s Dancers (1:15 p.m.); Powwow Dancers (2 p.m.); Heather Rae Music (3 p.m.); Kalie Jo Rider (4 p.m.); Transtrom Family Band (5 p.m.) is scheduled throughout the day.
