On the evening of August 23, 2021, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 2-year-old from a rural residence located west of Fairview. Subsequently it was determined that the child wandered away from the family residence. After approximately a 4-hour search the child was located and taken to Sidney Health Center to be checked out as the child had been subjected to the elements.
The Sheriff extends his gratitude to the Fairview Fire Department, Richland County Ambulance Service, Roosevelt County Sheriff K-9 Unit, Richland County D.E.S., Richland County Sheriff Office staff, Sidney Health Center, and all the concerned citizens for their dedication and hard work to locate and care for this child.
