Larry's Seed & Ag Supply Announces Merger

Larry Signalness, Watford City, has been in the customs spraying service since his senior year in high school in 1975 when he started Larry’s Spraying Service, He began spraying Fargo, Treflan and 2-4-D in the early days adding Roundup and many different chemicals for the next 25 years.

In the late ‘90s wanting to go a different route in the Ag field he subcontracted the spraying part of the business out and added fertile, certified and registered seed and changed the business name to Larry’s Seed and Ag Supply, Inc.

By changing to the seed side of the Ag business he got to know Jim Johnson through Interstate Seeds, who also had his own company, Custom Grain and Seed in Langdon, ND. Jim’s business grew to having locations in Mandan Butte, Hettinger and Minot, ND. He wanted to expand further west, and found out Larry wanted to retire. Through many conversations with Jim. Larry was concerned that western North Dakota and Eastern Montana farming practices are a bit different with drier conditions than from the eastern part of North Dakota.

Jim’s associate, Doug Preskey from the Bowbells/Langford area will be helping Jim with this merger and continue the seed varieties from Ag Pro, Pulse USA, and Dekalb/Asgrow. They will be adding Golden Harvest, LG Seeds and Cropland for a complete lineup of small grains, flax, pulse crops and forage.

Custom Grain and Seeds location is at 2nd Ave. NE, Keene, (by the hopper bins).

Ms. Kris Kubal is the manager and will be helping you with your needs at 701-675-2550.
