Richland County First Responders Purchase Drones To Aid In Emergencies

The Richland County DES and Richland County Sheriff's Department have purchased two new drones to aid in responding to emergencies. The drones feature thermal imaging, still frame and video feeds as well as 3D mapping technology.

The new technology will help with a variety of tasks from search & amp; amp; rescue, fire surveillance and hazmat clean up safety.

Local first responders have completed aviation, safety and privacy training.
