Sidney Area Chamber Of Commerce Welcomes New Director Of Programs

The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture welcomes Katie Dasinger on board as the new Director of Programs.

"I am very excited to be in this position. I was in my previous role with REDC for 9 years and learned so much, but I was ready for some new challenges," she said.

With this position she works on events, advertising, committee work, and other Chamber duties. She hopes she can help update some of the favorite Sidney Traditions and Chamber offerings so Kali Godfrey, Chamber Executive Director, can focus on member needs and sustainable funding for large-scale community projects and programs.

"Sidney and Richland County have so many wonderful traditional events that I am hoping we can build on them to make them appeal to younger generations to keep them going. I also think that our area has so much untapped potential for tourism and new events to bring dollars in and I am excited to explore those," explained Dasinger.

Originally from Colorado, Dasinger attended Rocky Mountain College on a cheerleading scholarship. After graduating with her bachelor's degrees in history, political science, and professional communication, she and her husband relocated to his hometown of Sidney.

Since moving to Sidney 12 years ago, Dasinger has held jobs as the Richland Economic Development Corp. Program Coordinator and private contractor in the Bakken Oil Field.

She has also been heavily involved in the community, taking the first high school cheerleading team from Montana to the National High School Cheerleading Championships, serving on the Eagle Foundation, and establishing Sidney Young Professionals.

She loves that her new position allows her to make an even bigger impact on Sidney.

"The Chamber is the community entity that is tasked with near term influxes of money to our businesses, so everything moves quickly. Economic Development is charged with bringing those new businesses in and growing our tax base, which is a long process, so I was ready to be moving from project to project faster while still making an impact in the town I love."
