SIDNEY, MT -February 1, 2022 - At approxin1ately 10:30 AM on Friday, January 28, 2022, officers with the Sidney Police Department were dispatched to a residence of the 900 block of 3rd Street NW upon receiving a request for a welfare check for an individual who had failed to come to work. The responding officers subsequently located a male subject, Christopher A. Wetzstein, age 50, deceased under what appeared to be suspicious circumstances. An autopsy performed on Monday determined the manner of death to be a homicide, however, further findings are pending.
There does not appear to be any threat to the safety of the community at this time.
The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in this investigation.
