On July 1 at approximately 8:55 p.m. CST a 2019 F350 Ford Pickup driven by Logan McVey, a 24-year-old male, Williston, was traveling west on 58th St W. The passenger Aprille Poitra a 26-year-old female, Williston, opened the door and fell from the vehicle. The driver of the pickup applied the brakes. The pickup struck the female with the rear passenger side tire. The female was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius Health, Williston. The female was then airlifted to Trinity Health in Minot. McVey was uninjured and Poitra had serious life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
