C.A.S.T For Kids Event At Tobacco Gardens, July 23

North Dakota’s first-ever C.A.S.T. for Kids event is taking place at Tobacco Gardens, Saturday, July 23 from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.

This event is designed to give children with special needs (ages 6-18), the opportunity to enjoy a day full of fishing. Attendees can expect 2-3 hours of fishing, a lunch, and an awards celebration where participants will receive a personalized plaque.

Each child will be provided with a free fishing gear fun-pack which includes a rod and reel, tackle box, event shirt, cap, and photo plaque.

“I am excited to provide a day where kids can go out on the lake and experience what it is like to catch a fish,” said Event Organizer, Daniel Stahl.

For the past couple of years, Stahl has thought about putting on a C.A.S.T for Kids event in the area and finally had the opportunity to make it happen. “I have always wanted to help people as much as possible and I have always been a follower of the C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation.”

On-shore volunteers are also needed to help with the event, baiting hooks and taking the fish off the lines. Experienced anglers with boats are also needed to show the kids proper fishing techniques and help them catch a fish.

Pre-registration is required for all participants and volunteers; registration can be completed at https://castforkids.org/event/tobaccogardens/.

“I hope this gives the kids something to look forward to and hope that the skills they learn from the event can help them enjoy fishing in the future.”
