McKenzie County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest Held

The 2022 McKenzie County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest was held on July 6 at the NDSU Extension Office/McKenzie County, Watford City.

Jacob Rink, Watford City, received a Grand Champion ribbon in the Junior Division (10-13-year-olds) and Gwen Signalness, Watford City, followed with the Reserve. Receiving blue ribbons were the following, Nick Ellis, Gavyn and Gracyn Darrington, Arnegard; KC Korslien, Brianna Rink and Tylee Thorne, Watford City; Jaden Murphy, Fairview and Clara Wisness, Keene.

Beginner Division (8-9-year-olds) participants Morgan Murphy, Fairview, and Aria Rink, Watford City, were awarded Grand and Reserve Champion honors respectively. Kash and Kenley Korslien, Watford City and Charlie Wisness, Keene, awarded with blue ribbons.

Also participating in the contest was noncompetitive Cloverbud (5-7-year-olds) Noah Ellis and Graham Darrington, Arnegard.

Karissa Frick, Arnegard, and Devan Leo, NDSU Extension Agent/McKenzie County, served as judges for the event.

The 4-H Consumer Decision Making program is designed to help youth develop decision making skills. Their ability to observe and evaluate written materials determines their success in the program.
