Richland County Baseball Is Getting Ready For The Fair

Aug. 3-6 from 11 a.m.-midnight, Richland County Baseball, a fair staple, will faithfully serve up burgers, hot dogs, and pop just west of the fair office. Aug. 3-6 from 11 a.m.-midnight.

The baseball fair booth is the biggest and most important fundraiser for the Richland County Baseball Club. Travis Bower and his wife, Kelly, manage the fair booth while the parents of players, players, and anyone who wishes to volunteer man the booth. They were able to start taking volunteers to man the booth on July 12. There are four shifts throughout the day and signups for volunteers are still currently in progress with many more shifts to fill. Anyone interested in volunteering would be greatly appreciated. Those interested in helping with the booth should reach out to Travis by email at [email protected] as soon as possible. The booth does not open for food until 11 a.m. but work starts at 6:30 a.m. in preparation for a busy day. They will serve their usual hamburgers, hot dogs, Baseball burgers, polish dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. They purchase all their food for the booth through Reynolds Market, Reese & Ray's IGA, Craig's Meat, Pizza House, and Blue Rock. Travis said, "It's a lot of work but we do look forward to serving the community in that way. Even though it's hard work, it is a lot of fun."

Kids of all ages from Sidney, Fairview, Savage, Lambert, Cartwright, and more come to play on the different levels. According to the Richland County Baseball Facebook page, T-Ball kids are ages 4-6, Rookies are ages 7-8, Minors are ages 9-10, Majors are ages 11-12, Babe Ruth are ages 13-15, and American Legion are ages 16-19. Those wishing to enter their kids in Richland County Baseball contact the club on their Facebook page or their website, https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/richlandcountymtbb.
