On Aug. 20 at approximately 3:32 p.m. CST, a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Lonnie Paul Brannin, Williston, ND, was northbound on ND 1804, near mile marker 335, approximately 5 miles west of Trenton, ND. Brannin, lost control while passing other traffic. The motorcycle entered the north ditch and overturned and was ejected off the motorcycle. Brannin was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
At the time of the crash the road conditions were dry, concrete, good summer driving conditions, and there was a mostly clear sky, 85º and 17 mph wind.
The agencies involved were North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Fire/EMS (ambulance), Williston Rural Fire Dept. and Trenton Fire and First Responders.
The crash is being investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
