Williams County Fatality Crashes

On Aug. 27 at approximately 4:20 p.m. CST, there was a fatality crash on HWY 1804 near mm 332, approximately 1 mile west of Trenton, ND. A 2007 Ford F250, driven by a Lester Lafollette wearing a seatbelt, Williston ND, was traveling westbound on Hwy 1804 near mm 332. A 2004 Nissan Xterra, driven by Kassandra Cote, unrestrained, Williston, ND, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 1804. The Nissan crossed into the westbound lane of travel. The Ford attempted to avoid the Nissan. The Nissan and Ford struck head on. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway. Cote was pronounced deceased on scene.

At the time of the crash the road conditions were good and the weather was clear.

The agencies involved were, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff's Office, Trenton Fire Department, Trenton First Responders and the Williston Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

On Aug. 27 at approximately 11:05 p.m. CST, on HWY 2 near mm 42, approximately 12 miles west of Ray, there was a one vehicle roll over.

A 2004 Ford F250, driven by Darren Linke, Tioga, ND, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 2 near mile marker 42. The Ford struck a deer, lost control, and entered the median, rolled and came to rest on its wheels in the westbound lanes. Linke was transported to CHI St. Alexius in Williston. Linke was pronounced deceased.

At the time of the crash the road conditions were good and the weather was clear.

The agencies who assisted were, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff's Office, Epping Fire Department and Ray Fire and Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
