The MonDak Heritage Center Announces Williston Area Visual Artists Exhibition Through Nov. 23

The MonDak Heritage Center announces an exhibition of works from members of Williston Area Visual Artists on display through Nov. 23 at the MonDak Heritage Center, 120 3rd Ave SE, Sidney.

This year's art show features art work from the following WAVA members: Beverly Talian, Doug Engberg, Linda Beard, Ardis Jacobson, Kathleen Sinclair, Phyllis Sederquest, Lily Grondahl, Daphne Clark, and Onesti Krieger. Art work ranges in oil, leather burning with acrylic paint, alcohol ink, watercolor, collage, colored pencil, watercolor with charcoal pour, mixed media, acrylic, and acrylic pouring.

Williston Area Visual Artists strive to provide a nurturing and supportive environment by which artists of all skill levels feel inspired and encouraged to pursue their art in various mediums. Each year the club is challenged quarterly to create works of art beyond their own vision. The group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the classroom at the James Memorial Art Center, 621 1st Ave. W., Williston, ND. Each meeting has a short business meeting followed by an educational component such as lessons in different mediums (for example: oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustic, color pencil, stained glass, acrylic pour, alcohol ink, clay, pastels, charcoal, or collage).

The MonDak Heritage Center is funded in part by coal severance taxes paid based upon coal mined in Montana and deposited in Montana's cultural and aesthetic projects trust fund.

The MonDak Heritage Center is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information call 406-433-3500 or e-mail [email protected]. Visit us online at http://www.mondakheritagecenter.org.
