Mountrail County Injury Crash, Jan. 14

On Saturday, Jan. 14, at approximately 8:36 a.m. CST, there was an injury crash on Highway 1804 near mile marker 251, approximately 4 miles north of New Town, ND. A 2022 Ford F150 driven by Heather Blackstone, 34-year-old female, Watford City, was traveling eastbound on Highway 1804. The Ford crossed into the westbound lane of travel and struck a 2004 Kenworth truck tractor, driven by Eric Danks, 31-year-old male, New Town, ND, that was traveling westbound. The Ford came to rest in the eastbound lane facing west. Blackston, the driver of the Ford was ejected and suffered serious injuries. Danks, the driver of the Kenworth was not injured in the crash. Blackstone was transported by ambulance to Trinity Health in Minot, ND.

At the time of the crash the road conditions had frost and the weather conditions were cloudy.

The Agencies who responded to the crash were North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police Department, Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office, and New Town Fire and Ambulance

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
