Boys & Girls Club Of The MonDak's Dinner & Auction To Be Held April 15

The Boys & Girls Club of the MonDak's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Dinner and Auction will be Saturday, April 15. The event will be held at the Richland County Event Center at the Richland County Fairgrounds this year.

The theme for the event is, "Cruisin' with the Boys & Girls Club, Double Down for Kids Casino Night". The doors will open at 6 p.m. There will be a dinner catered by the Ranger Lounge followed by casino games, a silent auction, and a live auction. Andre Reed, a long-time wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and 2014 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will give a talk on his journey as a Club kid and the impact the Club had on his life. Tickets are $50 for couples and $30 for singles. Elaine Stedman, Boys & Girls Club of the MonDak CEO, said, "This is the signature event of the year, every year, and every year it grows. We're changing it up this year. It should be fun." They are currently in need of sponsors and donated items for auction. Items for auction need to be donated by March 31.

According to their website, http://www.richlandbgc.org, the Boys & Girls Club of the MonDak has been providing an after-school program and summer camps since 2005. They started in Central Elementary and moved to their current facility, across the street. The club now also serves the community through outreach programs such as holiday food box giveaways, free winter outerwear, free books, summer lunches, and food backpacks for kids in need. According to http://www.bgca.org, Andre Reed is a Boys & Girls Club alumni. He attended the club in Allentown, PA as a child. He was drafted to play professional football by the Buffalo Bills in 1985. He played for them for 15 seasons. He spent another season playing for the Washington Redskins before retiring.
