Williston Basin Speedway Racing Season Begins May 13

The groundskeepers have been working and the drivers have been practicing. Now opening day, Saturday, May 13 is just around the corner.

The Williston Basin Speedway season will be from May 13-Sept 17 and promises 12 crazy nights of high-speed fun. According to their Facebook page, the 2023 race season will once again feature five IMCA Sanctioned Classes, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks & Junior Slingshots. May 13 is Band Day and Opening Night. Saturday, May 27 will be the start of the WBRA Summer Series. June 8 is Tougher than Dirt Night #3. June 23 is the Can-Am Shootout/ UMVF Night #1 the next night, June 24, is Can-Am Shootout/ UMVF Night #2. July 3 is the Annual Fireworks Show and Bras for a Cause Door Panel Auction. July 11 will be the Dakota Classic Modified Tour. July 29 will be another WBRA Summer Series race, Aug. 11 is also a WBRA Summer Series night, and Aug. 26 will be the WBRA Summer Series Championship Race. The season winds down with Sept. 16 being Fall-Round Up Night #1 and Sept. 17 being Fall-Round Up Night #2, the final race of the season. Vice President and Track Photographer Tyler Hagen said, “The WBRA Board of Directors can’t thank our fans enough for the constant support year in and year out. We strive to put on the best show possible, and we look forward to doing that again in 2023.” The races start at 7 p.m.

They worked diligently with the other tracks in the local surrounding area to work out as many nights as possible while sticking to the traditional Williston Basin Speedway schedule foundation.
