Share Your Talents In McKenzie County Fair Open Class Show

McKenzie County residents are invited to display exhibits showcasing their skills and talents in the Open Class Show held during the McKenzie County Fair, June 14-17, at the McKenzie County Ag Expo Building, 12880 25th St. NW, Watford City.

Exhibiting divisions include: Food and Nutrition, Fiber Arts, Arts and Crafts (which includes woodworking and leathercraft); Environment, Quilting, Drawing and Painting, Photography and Horticulture.

Age categories for exhibits are: Children’s Division: 7 years and younger; Youth Division: 8-18 years, and Adult Division: 19 years and up.

Top exhibit in each class can receive $10 and other awards are as follows: Grand: $5, Purple Ribbon: $4, Blue Ribbon: $3, Red Ribbon: $2, and White Ribbon: $1. All exhibits entered in the show will receive a ribbon, with exception being those entered for show only.

Entries can be brought to the McKenzie County Extension Office if you cannot bring them to the McKenzie County Ag Expo during entry hours. The Extension Office is located in the County Building behind the Courthouse, 205 6th St. NW, Watford City. Entry of Open Class exhibits is from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 13; and from 8-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 14. Judging takes place from 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, June 14. Exhibit books are available at several businesses in Watford City and at the McKenzie County Extension Office.

Open Class also features a “For Show Only” area for those who wish to not have their exhibits judged. Please feel free to also share your talents in this way.
