Lambert Is Excited About The 4th, Hopes To See Everyone There

With the 4th of July just around the bend, Lambert, like several towns around the area, is gearing up for this year’s traditional celebration.

The event starts July 3 with K-6th softball, kickball, and other games. These games will be at the sports complex at 5:30 p.m.

There will also be a Fun Run/Walk for all ages for either one or two miles at the sports complex at 6:30 p.m.

From 7-9 p.m., the Main Street Tailgate will feature burgers at the park and music. Vernon’s DJ and Karaoke will play at the CQ Bar & Grill, and the street dance with Josh Kerr begins at 9 p.m. It is sponsored by Shorty’s and proceeds from the beverages and food sold during the dance will be donated to Lambert Fire Department.

The 4th starts with the Praise Church Service at 9 a.m. at the Lambert Senior Center.

Those wanting to enter the parade are to start lining up at Nortana Grain Co. at 10:30 a.m., with the bike parade down Main Street starting at 10:50 a.m. The main parade will begin at 11 a.m. with a military fly-over by the MT Air National Guard and the National Anthem.

At noon, the Lambert Fire Department will be holding their BBQ beef/pork meal on Main Street.

Starting at 1 p.m. will be a ping pong ball drop, kid’s carnival in the park, and root beer floats at Fox Lake Senior Center.

Next at 2 p.m. starts a cornhole tournament in the park (sign-up there), and Bingo at the CQ Bar & Grill.

At 3 p.m. there will be a car show in the east old gym parking lot. Contact Shane Williams at 406-480-0540 for more information.

In the old gym at 3:30 p.m. there will be a talent show. Becky Carda is coordinating this, and she is looking for entrees. Contact her at 406-480-1636 if you’re interested.

The Lion’s Den will be holding another BBQ supper in the park at 6 p.m., and Vernon’s DJ and Karaoke will also be playing. There will be an adult softball game by the north discus ring at the Sports Complex at 7 p.m..

Dusk will bring the fireworks.

In addition to Becky, Shane, and the volunteers who set up and take down, the Lambert community would like to thank Shorty’s Bar & Grill, Richey; Kathy Helmuth for assisting in the organization of the Praise Church Service, Bryan Prevost for coordinating the fly-over, Emily Carda for coordinating the parade, Bryan Prevost and Blue Rock Distributing for sponsoring the ping pong ball drop, Jessica Spinner and her class for facilitating the kids’ games, Blue Rock Distributing for sponsoring the root beer floats and some advertising, the CQ Bar & Grill for sponsoring Vernon’s DJ and Karaoke and Bingo, the Lion’s Den for coordinating the BBQ suppers in the park both nights, and Lambert Fire Department for sponsoring the noon BBQ beef/pork meal and fireworks.

As always, the Lambert community is excited about this event, and hopes to see everyone there!
