On Jan. 22 a 2020 Kubota M5, driven by Lester LaDue, Trenton, ND, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 1804 at slow speed approximately 1 mile west of Trenton, ND. A 2009 Freightliner, driven by Michael McGrath, Benton, AR, was traveling eastbound behind the Kubota and two other vehicles. The two vehicles passed the Kubota in the left lane. The freightliner began to pass the Kubota in the left lane as well. The Kubota began to turn left onto 147th Ave NW. The Kubota was struck by the Freightliner. Both the Kubota and Freightliner came to rest in the north ditch. The driver of the Kubota was transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius and sustained serious injuries in the crash.
At the time of the accident the road was wet and snow covered and it was cloudy and snowing.
The agencies that responded to the crash was North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Ambulance, Trenton Rural Fire Department and Williston Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation of the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
