24th Annual Watford Heritage Day To Be Held Sept. 21

The 24th Annual Heritage Day in Watford City will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the McKenzie County Heritage Park and North Dakota Oil Museum. After the opening ceremony led by Veteran Services Officer Mark Honstein at 11 a.m., The Lingenfelters will perform their musical talents, and food will be served by Slezak BBQ.

At 12:30 p.m., there will be a demonstration of an "Old Time School" lesson, giving children and all attendees a view of what class looked like for previous generations. A sawmill and shingle mill will be demonstrated at 1 p.m., followed by the threshing show. After threshing, they will do a bailing demonstration and coin scramble for the children present. Old fashioned yard games will begin at 3 p.m., and the pie eating contest will begin at 3:30 p.m. At 4 p.m., the day will close with the announcing of the costume contest winners.

So be sure to get to 904 2nd Ave SW, Watford City. Wear your best attempt at 'old timer' style, and enjoy the entertainment, educational opportunity, and some great food and music as well!
