The Sidney Summer Girls Fastpitch League, ages 10-14, held its end-of-the-year banquet on July 2. Good food was eaten, slip and slide kickball was played in the hot sun, raffle winners were drawn, and awards were presented. The Fairview Warriors (0-1) traveled to Poplar on Thursday night to face the hometown Indians in their 2025 season opener. After a strong kick return by Troy Karst, quarterback Keegan Skogas led the Warriors on a quick four-play, 30-yard drive, finishing it himself with a nine-yard rushing touchdown. The Fairview Warriors opened the season at home Aug. 30 against the Culbertson Cowboys, under new head Coach Ben Hardy with assistant coaches Cody Vitt and Paul Hardy. Yellowstone Chiropractic and Fink Family Chiropractic donated $5,940, raised through sports physicals done July 21-22 at Sidney Elks Lodge, to the Sidney High School Athletics Department. The two practices have been volunteering their time and donating the proceeds to the athletic department since 2012, and this was their biggest year yet with 198 sports physicals done; most years averaging 160-170.
