The Sunrise Women’s Clinic is hosting its annual Light the Way Christmas Gala at the Richland County Event Center Thursday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m. MT.
There will be a banquet dinner, silent auction, Christmas choir, and guest speaker (Ashton Nielsen-Davis). The silent auction will have handmade or new Christmas items including ornaments, table runners, quilts, etc.
The proceeds from the gala will directly benefit the Clinic and expecting families in the area. The event helps pay for all the overhead costs. The Clinic is hoping to raise enough funds to upgrade their ultrasound machine, which is 11 years old.
This is the 11th year that the Clinic has hosted this event. “This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, this event helps the Clinic continue to support girls from around the area,” Sunrise Women’s Clinic Patient Services Manager, Karen Sivertson said.
The Clinic is privately funded and has very little grants. Most of the funding comes from community members and churches.
The Clinic helps women around the area with unplanned pregnancies. It provides information to women for the choices and decisions they may face, offering them services such as educational classes, pregnancy support, abortion information, free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds.
“The Clinic’s goal is to provide young women with all their choices in a non-judgmental environment. It is such a great resource for girls, there is nothing else like this in the area,” explained Sivertson. “We want to be here for those girls and support them; help them make some good life choices and have someone that truly cares for them and wants to see what is best and help them achieve that. “
The Clinic helps women from all over the area including Watford City, Williston, Bainville, and Culbertson.
RSVP is required by Dec. 3 and sponsorship opportunities are available, call the Clinic at 406-433-7772 for more information.
