McKenzie County Motorcycle Crash June 5

There was a one-vehicle motorcycle crash on June 5, at approximately 10:36 a.m. CST on Hwy. 1806 near mile marker 290, 20 miles north of Watford City

The motorcycle was traveling north on Hwy. 1806. The driver stated the motorcycle began experiencing mechanical issues. The driver failed to negotiate the curve, crossed into the other lane, and onto the left shoulder of the roadway. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and tipped. The motorcycle came to rest facing NE on the left shoulder of the roadway. The juvenile passenger fell from the motorcycle. The male driver’s leg was pinned under the motorcycle. The driver and passenger were transported by McKenzie County Ambulance to McKenzie County Hospital. The juvenile passenger was then transported by air to Trinity Hospital, Minot.

The road conditions were good and the weather conditions were partly cloudy at the time at the accident. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing their helmets at the time of the crash. Both had serious injuries. Both individuals were from Belle Fourche, SD.
