Bronc Miller Memorial Team Roping, June 18

The 2nd Annual Bronc Miller Memorial Team Roping is set for Saturday, June 18 at the Burns Creek Arena, located 7 miles south of Savage on Hwy 16.

There will be three roping events, tons of prizes, concessions (provided by the Yellowstone Valley Trailblazers 4-H Club), live music and much more.

The #11 Slide roping starts at 10 a.m. with pick 1 or draw 1 for $100, 2 second handicap/sliding both ways, 4 steer progressive, and ropers can enter 3 times or draw up to 6; $500 added.

The #8 Roping will follow #11 slide roping with pick 1 or draw 1 for $80, enter 3 times or draw up to 6, and 3 steer progressives - buckles will be awarded to the top header and top heeler.

The Century Roping will be the final event of the day. The combined age of partners must be over 80 and 1 partner must be over the age of 50 years old. Fee is $25 per roper or $50 team, 2 steer progressive.

"This event is for the older generation and maybe some of the past burns creeks riders. We wanted to give them a chance to enjoy roping and show us young guys how it is done," said Taylor Searer.

Participants will need to enter the events with a cash entry fee by 9 a.m. the day of the event. There will be several prizes awarded and breast collars will be awarded to the high-money header and heeler of the day.

Following the roping events, there will be live music by Tyler Anderson and Justin Bouldin.

The event is made possible by the many sponsors that made monetary contributions and donated several hours of work into the arena.

"The support we have been given over the last two years is second to none. We couldn't do any of this without the support from the community," explained Jaycee Searer.

Everyone is encouraged to come out to the Bronc Miller Memorial Team Roping.

"We hope that events like these inspire the younger generation to continue that western way of life and keep the arena up and going," said Bryar Lange.
