On Friday, Aug. 4, around 3:45 a.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol received a report that a female pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Hwy. 23 near mile marker 52, approximately one mile east of New Town. A 31-year-old female from Roseglen, ND, was located deceased. A witness advised that a vehicle had struck the female and left the scene.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary investigating agency and are being assisted by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police, and the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Department.

This incident remains under investigation by the FBI with the assistance of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police and Mountrail County Sheriff’s Department.
