On Sept. 4 at approximately 11 p.m. CT there was a one vehicle rollover on Hwy. 2 near mile marker 18, within Williston city limits.
A 2014 GMC Sierra, driven by Tracy Reye, Stillwater, OK, with a Kyle Womack, Stillwater,OK, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 2. The GMC failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway. The GMC left the roadway, struck the east guardrail, and vaulted off the embankment. The vehicle rolled and came to rest. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced deceased on scene. It is believed the crash occurred sometime during the night of Sept. 4 after 11 p.m. but was discovered on the morning of Sept. 5, at approximately 10 a.m. CT.
At the time of the crash the road conditions were good but the weather conditions were hazy, dark-lighted.
The agencies who responded to the crash were North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williston Police Department and Williston Fire and Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation of the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
