Bluegrass Comes To Watford City Oct. 25

Two of the nation’s top touring bluegrass bands are joining forces in Watford City to conclude the North Dakota Main Street Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Rough Rider Center Convention Hall. The concert is free and open to the public presented by the Watford City Area Chamber of Commerce.

This fantastic evening of bluegrass music features The Waddington Brothers plus Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, both decorated award winners from the 2023 SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) Convention in Nashville, TN. Both bands travel the country and beyond, delivering the high lonesome sound of acoustic American music in authentic, highly entertaining shows.

The Waddington Brothers, a seasoned group of four brothers from southwest North Dakota, have been performing together since 2004. Their versatile musical style ranges from hard-driving bluegrass to the mellow sound and dynamic western harmonies reminiscent of Bob Nolan and The Sons Of The Pioneers. With strong sibling harmonies and stunning instrumental finesse, this quartet of brothers—Seth Waddington on guitar and vocals, Jacob Waddington on mandolin and vocals, Ethan Waddington on banjo and vocals, and Job Waddington on upright bass and vocals—are showing delighted audiences around the country why they took home the blue ribbon at the 2023 International Bluegrass Band Championship in Nashville!

Seth Mulder leads one of the most exciting, talked-about young bands on the bluegrass circuit! Hailing originally from Hillsboro, ND, Seth moved to East Tennessee to attend the prestigious bluegrass school program at the Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music. While there, he formed his powerhouse band Midnight Run, and has called the Gateway of the Great Smoky Mountains home ever since. The solid 5-piece group consists of Seth Mulder on mandolin and vocals, Colton Powers on banjo and vocals, Max Silverstein on fiddle and vocals, Chevy Watson on guitar and vocals, and Tyler Griffith on upright bass and vocals. With a high-energy stage show filled with nostalgic entertainment, tight harmonies, skillful musicianship, and a deep connection with their audiences, Seth Mulder & Midnight Run perform over 300 dates a year. They are currently holding the esteemed Song of the Year title from the 2023 SPBGMA Awards in Nashville!
